Dancing Waters are Officially Opened

A SPARKLING new attraction has been unveiled at the Pleasure Beach. The park has launched a £750,000 Spectacular Dancing Water Show, which could give the famous Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas a run for their money. The centre piece of the stunning display is the largest tornado ever created, which shoots 100ft into the air and as high as the Pepsi Max Big One. The fountains move in time to a varied collection of music including classical, rock, pop and even rugby themes. As night falls, spectators see an extra treat as the fountains are illuminated and night shows take place. The attraction is already proving a big draw to visitors. Amanda Thompson, managing director of The Pleasure Beach said: "The new Spectacular Dancing Water Show has proved to be a huge success. "Many people have been enjoying the fountains and surrounding areas, especially as the weather has been so great lately. "We have invested £4m in the park this season with refurbishing the Casino building and adding the fountains. "Investment is going on all over the resort and signs are very encouraging for the future. "We are looking forward to a fantastic season, the whole town has worked hard together to make sure all visitors have a fantastic experience here in Blackpool." The fountains, which are in front of the new Bean Street FY4 restaurant, are programmed to perform for visitors every 20 minutes and use more than 20,000 gallons of water in every show. They were designed by Aquatique Show International, who have also created water features for the likes of Disneyland USA, Sea World USA and Puy du Fou in France. As schools break up for summer, the Pleasure Beach is running a special offer to help families enjoy a discounted day. The Celebrate Summer offer gives adults £10 off a wristband when booked in advance online and £5 off for children. This means wristbands will be £20 for adults and £15 for children instead of the gate price of £30 and £25. A Pleasure Beach pass for those who want to enjoy the park at a slower pace without the rides is £5. Tots are in for an extra treat today as Postman Pat and Jess will be visiting to meet and greet guests. Source
