Extreme World… Extreme Terror
A girl of 12 is in hospital following an operator at fault on Terminal Velocity, at Extreme World in America.
The ride takes riders up 140ft, before letting them free-fall on a bungee-type rope onto a net. However, in this particular incident, the operator let the free-fall begin at 100ft, rather than 140ft. The net only raises in the air after the ride passes 100ft for added fear.
The girl has many spinal fractures, as well as a cracked skull. She was in a coma for 4 days, has still yet to speak and is suspected with permanent paralysis.
The ride has never had any trouble in its 8 year past. The park have suspended the member of staff due to "Mental Health reasons". The ride remains closed, though the park is still open, with police interference taking place.
Yet another sad day in the theme park industry...
