My father's signature cologne, wore it every morning since inception, to the point that it melded with his bodyodar and the combination WAS my father's DNA scent. It smells like a fresh shave; So much that, although not categorized as a Fougere, it's hard for me to dissociate Lagerfeld Classic from a trip to the salon. The wonderful and warm citrus honey opening (I always thought it was orange), the warm spicy heart with tobacco and vanilla and the beautiful tonka, amber musk with patchouli. Well, while the original formula tried and succeeded in breaking common stereotypes, the current formula fell victim to stereotypes of which society got rid long ago, even before it was created.

Overall really pleased with this and the bottle looks so macho, I can literally see this laying in Montana's office lol.I have fond memories of this fragrance not too much because I love it (I like it a lot but that is it) but more for the era it evoque to me. Although the creative part of the composition is outstanding, unfortunately, it needs more cash put into it.

The original DNA of the fragrance survived through both the Parfums International and Unilever versions, with minor tweaks along the way.Classic Gray immediately reveals itself as a semi-fresh essence with strong woody, modern tones and polishes rich in Iso-E Super. Actually, it has no sillage at all and after a few minutes, it turns into a nondescript dull cheap scent for which even one euro I would find too much to pay. The oakmoss and amber are there in both, but the amber in the Interparfums version may be a bit stronger. This bottle of Lagerfeld Classic Aftershave was gifted to me many years ago, and although I appreciate this fragrance and am happy to have it in my collection, it is probably not something I will replace once my bottle runs out.
