About this deal

Too many complacent ‘believers’ are failing to engage the secular culture; they’re drowning themselves in it instead. If you're not a Christian, I still highly recommend it so you can get a better idea of what a real Christian is supposed to act like. My biggest complaint, and the reason I only gave this book 3 stars, is that Walsh seems a little confused about the essence of the gospel.

you name them) being so perverted, selfish, core ignorant to others, let alone the pure evil actions and meanness generally abounding as if it were acceptable? This book was so frustrating, from a man I would completely agree with and probably enjoy seeing speak.Yes, Walsh is definitely opinionated and unyielding, but the reader should not miss that he often includes himself among those who fall woefully short and are in need of mercy. I have followed UK and USA politics and other developments for some years, and part of that journey is looking at the overall level of the 'Churches' (insert Temple, etc). The more I've learned about progressive "Christianity", the more I'm concerned for the future of those who are so willing to discount the Word of God in favor of a god of their own design. In the last two chapters he finally tells people to repent and seek God, but what does that look like?

But I have already been dragged into the fold, kicking and screaming by you wonderful people (and I will love you all forever for it – my gratitude toward this community is boundless). The main concern I had though came from an overwhelming feeling throughout the book which I would best describe as worm theology. The lack of bibles, crosses, quiet time, prayer, and reverence in many modern churches and how they dare not let one second of quiet reflection time during their loud and busy services. This book is definitely a good read for anyone who wants to know how the church in America got to where it is, and a must-read for American Christians. This topic is so huge and underlines nearly every element of American life, so much so that if this book doesn't set you on a path of deepening your Christian Faith I don't know what will. Jesus says “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
