About this deal

Easy to fit once you find out how to access the seal in the type of flush mechanism you have without damaging the existing set up. It worked perfectly and it was good to have a new securing ring provided although removing the old ring was harder than expected. New part fitted in less than 5 minutes, and all i needed was a flat head screwdriver to pop the old on out.

Whatever problem you may have, Ideal Standards will have a solution for you that will consider every element. If you have water running into the toilet pan continuously and are not sure if you need to purchase a spare part / replace the flush valve or inlet/fill valve you can try this simple test to determine. NOTE: Replacing the diaphragm may not always resolve your problem as the fault could be with the valve itself but it is a cheap way to try and resolve and is usually successful. TEST: If you turn the water off (from the stop cock bringing water into the house OR an isolating valve on the cistern), leave it for up to an hour, does the cistern empty? Do not be concerned if you purchase this new item and it arrives and you think it is bigger than the old.Over time as the flush valve is opened and closed, small imperfections tend to occur in the surface of the rubber washer causing the washer to be warped and not providing an adequate seal. If your Ideal Standard flush valve won't seal properly and is constantly passing water into the toilet pan but there is no sign of an inlet valve failure, it could very well be that the base sealing washer needs to be changed. This seal is a replacement for the worn seal in the toilet cistern which is allowing the water to run into the toilet between flushes.
